Back to Work Soon!

You may have noticed that I have been a little lazy with keeping up this blog.  I have been so busy with my YouTube How To Videos and my Recipe Blog that I have totally neglected this more personal one.  

I will be going back to work very soon and I am looking forward to it.  I am going back only part time to start but that will be great since all the kids will be here for the month of August.  I cannot imagine working full time and trying to keep the house running with three teenagers and a six year old..............not going to happen....LOL

So far this has been the best summer ever and I have really enjoyed my time off.

NEW BLOG CREATED FOR RECIPES

I would like to let everyone know that I have created a new blog specifically for keeping the recipes that are posted here frequently.  I wanted to find a way to keep the recipes on-line and not delete them every week. This seemed like a great way to make recipe cards for everyone to reference.

RASPBERRY FREE PICK !

I have been trying to decide whether to spend the money on picking raspberries for jelly this year.  I went for a walk on our local trail tonight and found a gigantic area of raspberries growing wild.  I picked for maybe a minute and could not hold them all in both hands!  Best part is that right under all the raspberry bushes are strawberry plants too.  I am so excited about going back tomorrow.  If you look for them they are everywhere to pick along trails in the city I bet.  

I will be posting my blackcurrant jelly recipe since I made some yesterday and it turned out fantastic. Today I made blackcurrant, redcurrant and gooseberry mixture jelly with the same recipe just substituting the different fruit mixture instead of only blackcurrants.  It seemed to set a little slower but did set and seal!

I have to show you all how huge this place is and everywhere you can see for hundreds of feet are raspberries and big ones.  I am planning on making a video of the raspberry patches I found and will post it tomorrow to my YouTube Channel.

Teenagers Survive Night In Fort Without Internet or Cable.....Phones Were Present

Well, they did it!  They stayed in their fort all night and did not even come in when the birds started chirping.  They slept until 11:00 am and complained about having the worst sleep ever!  I think any sleep that last until 11:00 am is a great sleep.  Pics were requested of the dwelling but I was declined.  Way too embarassing aparently. 

I am still entertaining a crew of them so I will have to get back to a regular post tonight hopefully with a new recipe.  I have someone who has field tested the dill pickle one so I will let you know in a month how they are.

Fort Teenagers Being Built in Backyard

I am pleased to announce that B & A have decided to built a fort in the backyard where they intend to sleep for the night.  I know, it sounds strange that they are not worried about an internet connection or the fact that there is no cable, but they have been outside belly laughing at their combined efforts to build a girlie shelter for a night stay.  I will let you know how that goes in the morning.  Cheers Everyone!
